Paper Stack—What if the medium of print was used to create letterforms that are usually printed on it? An experiment in paper folding, hand-craft, and typography became this set of letter stamps – made completely out of paper. Large sheets of paper were folded into stacks and glued solid using a mixture of water, glue, and flour. Capital letterforms were cut out of some of the stacks and attached to the glued-solid stacks. The stamps are inked with a brayer and then pressed to paper to print the letter. A type tray was made out of wood to hold the collection of stamps. Using the stamps, I designed a poster to showcase the resulting typeface titled Paper Stack.
